DAY 01: LIMA

Welcome to the city of the kings. 

Arrival in Lima. Meet and greet, transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay in Lima.

DAY 02: LIMA

In the morning. We will have a panoramic view of the main streets, squares, and avenues of the city. We will start with a panoramic view of the Miraflores district. We will start in the Parque del Amor, where we will observe the famous sculpture “The Kiss”, by the Peruvian artist Victor Delfin. Then, we will observe the impressive Huaca Pucllana, ceremonial center of the Lima culture. We will continue to the Plaza de Armas, where we will find the Government Palace and the Municipal Palace. We will visit the Cathedral and walk to the Convent of Santo Domingo, whose corridors were walked by San Martín de Porres and Santa Rosa de Lima in the 17th century and where their remains currently lie there. In the afternoon, let’s experience the capital city of Lima in a different style. We will begin our exploration by learning more about the ancient Peruvian inhabitants in the Larco Museum, hosted in a colonial mansion unique of its kind that dates to the 18th century. We will tour the halls and galleries where each piece is a book to be opened. We will continue our visit by heading to an antique Tavern, where we will delight our palates with some delicious Peruvian sandwiches not to be missed. Finally, we will head for the Magic Water Circuit, the largest water and SLIGHT show in Latin America. We will witness the greatest show of Ornamental Fountains where there is perfect communion and harmony of water, light, music, and images. (Shared tour)

DAY 03: LIMA/CUSCO/SACRED VALLEY

Departure transfer to board your flight to Cusco. Arrival in Cusco. Meet and greet, transfer to the Sacred Valley. On the way, we will make a stop at Cochahuasi animal sanctuary. Stablished in 2007, the place has been sheltering wild species, many of which are endangered. These animals are put under the care of the center for treatment and to be released into their natural habitat.

Lunch at a local restaurant. Our next stop, the Museum of Living Culture of Yucay, a tourist complex where we will meet and be able to feed Andean camelids such as llamas and alpacas, in addition, local people will show us their techniques of weaving and dyeing traditional textiles. (Private tour)

DAY 04: SACRED VALLEY

A day to enjoy the Sacred Valley. We will start our day visiting Maras, the famous and ancient salt mines of the colonial era. The contrast of its white wells with the green valley is imposing and unmissable for a spectacular postcard of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Next, enjoy the incredible experience of knowing the ceramic art, next to professionals who will guide you in the process and teach you the technique that famous ceramists continue to use and that dates from the colonial era. Aren’t you excited about the possibility of making a vessel with your own hands, or making your own souvenirs?

Lunch at a local restaurant. Finally, we will visit Ollantaytambo, a picturesque town continuously inhabited since Inca times, where we will visit the temple of the same name, used as a fortress during the Inca resistance and from where we will obtain collection images.  (Private tour)

Important: This evening you will need to pack a small bag for your journey to Machu Picchu. For all train journeys, each passenger is allowed carry-on luggage (one bag or backpack) with a weight not to exceed 5kg/11 lb, and maximum measurements of 62 linear in/ 157 linear cm (height + length + width). Baggage that exceeds these measurements will not be allowed. We ask you to pack the necessary for one day overnight. Your extra luggage will be taken to your hotel in Cusco in the morning.

DAY 05: SACRED VALLEY/PUEBLO MACHU PICCHU

Transfer Hotels in Sacred Valley / Ollantaytambo train station. A train trip away to see one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. We arrive at the Aguas Calientes station where our staff will assist us on boarding the bus to go up the winding road to Machu Picchu, amid a spectacular view of the Urubamba River and its canyon.

Enjoy Machu Picchu as a family and accompanied by the Inca puppy “Allco”. With the little ones in mind, we have designed a playful tour of the citadel, where parents and children will make a fascinating visit with their guides, a map, and a children’s explorer kit.  (Private tour)

At the arranged time, we will enjoy lunch at Tinkuy restaurant before returning to the town where we will spend the night. Dinner included at the hotel. Overnight stay in Aguas Calientes.

DAY 06: MACHU PICCHU/CUSCO

Morning off to enjoy hotel facilities or explore Aguas Caliente’s town.

At the arranged time, board the train back to Poroy station from where you will be transferred to your hotel in Cusco. Overnight stay in Cusco.

DAY 07: CUSCO

In the morning, we will learn the process of making chocolate from the cocoa tree in the Peruvian jungle, the history of chocolate and prepare our own chocolates with chocolate milk or chocolate bitter. (Shared tour)

In the afternoon, we will go up to the Archeological Park of Sacsayhuaman. Our excursion starts by visiting the magnificent fortress, a beautiful place that radiates peace and quiet. We will be able to admire the rocks measuring up to 4 meters high that were used in its construction. Then, we will continue to Q’enqo, and ancient temple of the cougar, that has inside an altar for sacrifices in the inner part of the rock.  Tambomachay, the sacred fountains of life and health.  On the way we will have a panoramic view from Puca Pucara, a watch tower that controls the entrance to the city.  After that, we will visit the Temple of the Sun “Korikancha”, on top of which the Santo Domingo Convent was built.  A legend tells that his temple was entirely lined in gold sheets that marveled the Conquistadors upon their arrival. Finally, we will end our tour visiting the Cathedral, located in front of the main square, and keeps colonial invaluable paintings and other works of religious art such as the Cross that arrived with the first conquerors.
